Jean Harsent

Jean has more than 12 years experience working as a coach and trainer in both the public and private sectors.  Prior to pursuing an independent career, Jean spent 20 years working for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office both in the UK and worldwide, which has given her an insider’s appreciation of the challenges faced by large organisations.

After a generalist career, Jean moved into HR and was able to specialize in coaching and training.  She has facilitated a number of training courses with a coaching slant, including the FCO’s internal coaching skills course and SISM (Selection Interview Skills for Managers).  As an executive coach, she has worked with staff at all levels in both the public and private sector, utilizing performance data from 360 feedback, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) techniques, psychometric profiling tools (qualified in MBTI, FIRO B, 16PF, ECI –Emotional Competence Inventory) and assessment centre results.

Clients have described her coaching style as stretching and stimulating as well as supportive.  She enjoys working with clients who have high standards and who are not prepared to accept second best:  they want to have fulfillment at work, as well as achieve balance for their family and outside interests. Current clients include Old Mutual Insurance (client base in South Africa and worldwide), Morgan Sindall, the European Medicines Agency (EMA), Essex Police, and the NHS.
